Originally owned by Don Mann, and his son Cameron Mann, the facility was transformed from a gym into the Cooper Young recording studio you see today. Alan Stewart of Windsor, UK (who built personal studios for Pink Floyd, Electric Lady) was hired by Don. John Meredith and Roger Collis are two other individuals who have worked on the original reconstruction, and the current remodel. The studio has been active since 2001 and is running full steam ahead, but looking at a bigger future. Now in 2022 with new owners Elliott Ives, Taylor Berger, & Scott Bartlett, it is in the midst of evolving into something more, adapting to its surroundings in historic Memphis, TN and keeping pace with a rapidly changing industry for creatives.
